Internal Auditor
DESCRIPTION OF POSITION:
The Internal Auditor provides a full range of financial, compliance, and operations audits, business advisory and consultation services, investigations, internal control structures, accountability and use of resources.
RESPONSIBILITIES AND DUTIES:
Evaluate and examine policies and procedures and systems.
Evaluate the reliability and integrity of information and the efficient and effective use of resources in the organization.
Review compliance with policies, procedures and state and federal laws and regulations.
Report results and make recommendations to management.
Follow up on the progress of implementation of recommendations and directions to appropriate personnel.
Participate in process and internal control improvement initiatives.
Confer with management staff and meet with other system employees on a wide range of internal audit issues.
Assist management with identifying and assessing strategic risks.
Incorporate training, continuous improvement and accountability.
Assist individuals who perform operational and financial activities with risk assessments and action plans in their responsibility areas to heighten awareness of major exposures, loss potential, and or transactional anomalies and facilitate discussion of practical ways to manage or avoid them.

EDUCATION AND WORK EXPERIENCE
Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Business.
2 years of Auditing or related experience.
Advanced computer skills.
CPA, CIA, or MBA preferred
Ability to read, analyze and interpret common scientific and technical journals, reports and legal documents; Ability to respond to common inquiries or complaints from customers, regulatory agencies, or members of the business community.
Ability to present information to top management, public groups, employees and/or administration; Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts and draw valid conclusions.
Physical Demands/Work Environment
Occasional standing, walking, frequent sitting for long periods of time, manual dexterity.
Work is normally performed in a typical interior/office work environment.
Light physical effort; repetitive motion of wrists, hands and/or fingers; standing, walking, lifting, reaching, kneeling, bending, stooping, pushing and pulling; frequent sitting.
Ability to read forms, computer screens, correspondence and other documents.
Work may include work on evenings, nights, weekends and/or holidays to ensure effective productivity.
Ability to deal with stressful situations and conflict resolution.
