The Offices of Economic Development, Tourism, and Chamber of Commerce for Jeff Davis Parish are seeking a dynamic and skilled professional to join our team as the Director of Marketing and
Communications.
This unique position will play a pivotal role in promoting our parish, supporting local businesses, and enhancing our parish’s economic and tourism development initiatives.
Job Summary:
The Director of Marketing and Communications will be responsible for developing and implementing comprehensive marketing and communication strategies for all three offices.
The ideal candidate will possess a deep understanding of social media platforms and best practices, be proficient in graphic design, and have a keen eye for photography.
The role involves managing social media accounts, managing and updating the JDP website, and creating engaging content that showcases the diverse offerings of our parish.
Key Responsibilities:
1.
Develop and execute integrated marketing and communication plans to promote tourism, economic development, and chamber activities within the parish.
2.
Manage and maintain the organizations’ social media presence, ensuring consistent and engaging content across various platforms.
3.
Oversee the design and layout of marketing materials, including brochures, newsletters, promotional collateral, billboards, and other applicable mediums.
4.
Capture high-quality photographs, video, and visuals to enhance marketing materials and social media content.
5.
Regularly update and optimize the organizations’ website with relevant information and engaging multimedia content.
6.
Collaborate with internal teams and external partners to gather information and insights for future marketing initiatives.
7.
Monitor and analyze the performance metrics of social media and website interaction – and adjust strategies as needed to maximize impact.
8.
Stay current on industry trends, emerging technologies, and best practices in marketing and communications.
Qualifications:
1.
Bachelor’s degree, Associate’s Degree, or Equivalent Experience in Marketing,
Communications, Business, or a related field.
2.
Proven experience in marketing and communications, preferably in a similar role.
3.
Strong understanding of social media platforms and demonstrated success in social media management.
4.
Proficiency in graphic design tools and software for creating visually appealing content.
5.
Excellent written, verbal, communication, and active listening skills.
6.
Highly organized with the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
7.
Be a team player, but also be capable of working independently.
8.
Possess a creative mindset with a keen eye for design and photography.
9.
Familiarity with economic development, tourism, and chamber of commerce activities is a plus.
10.
Be curious, inventive, and interested in continuous learning and growth.
