Duties and Responsibilities:
These are the basic job duties that an employee must be able to perform, with or without reasonable accommodation(s).
Other reasonable duties may be assigned.
• Responsible for conducting college-level courses while developing and designing curriculum plans that foster learning, stimulate class discussions, and ensure student engagement.
• Responsible for preparing and delivering lectures face-to-face, creating a learning environment, and assessing student learning.
• Maintain accurate grade and attendance records, and individual student progress data, ensuring this is a part of the student’s permanent record.
• Adhere to all laws pertaining to disclosure of student records.
• Post virtual office hours on the syllabus and in Canvas to facilitate interaction with students, other faculty, and staff administrators.
• Available to students on campus, via email, phone, and/or virtually.
• Maintain a professional attitude with all students and employees.
• Utilize the approved curriculum, clearly defined course outcomes, ensuring that content is taught.
• Utilize Canvas learning management system for course organization and management.
• Submit required reports in a timely manner.
• Maintain accurate grades and attendance records.
• Organize instruction in the classroom.
• Meets class as regularly scheduled and with punctuality.
• Provide sufficient practice in information systems technology to develop student skills.
• Checks emails daily.
• Other duties as deemed necessary.
Required Education:
• A bachelor’s degree in computer science, information systems, or IT-related field.
• Must meet SACSCOC credentialing requirements.
Required Experience:
• One year work experience in programming and/or database.
Preferred Education:
• A master’s degree in computer science, information systems, or IT-related field
• IT certifications
Preferred Experience:
• Teaching experience, specifically in the information systems discipline.
• Canvas LMS
Passing pre-employment criminal background screen is required as a condition of employment.
