EXAMPLE OF DUTIES The Student Success and Retention Coordinator for the Student Success Center provides academic support services, advising and other related services to support student persistence and retention.
The coordinator supervises student workers and is responsible for the overall management of the University’s Student Success Center.
Job Duties: Serve as the Navigate program lead by developing and implementing strategies for utilizing system resources to improve student retentionServe as the coordinator for the University’s Student Success CenterCollaborate with member units of the Student Success Center to develop and implement a shared vision for the centerProvide academic and student support services to increase retention and persistenceAssist in the planning, development, implementation, and evaluation of the Center’s instructional and learner support servicesDevelop and provide training to faculty and staff on Navigate and the Student Success Center resources and servicesProvide individualized academic support guidance and group workshops on topics such as study skills, time management, test-taking, and college adjustmentSupport faculty and staff with the adoption and utilization of the Navigate platformAssist faculty with identifying and referring high risk students to the Student Success CenterWork with faculty to assist with the coordination, scheduling, outreach, and promotion of the Center’s teaching/learning offeringsMarket the Center’s programs and services and monitor student participation and usageDevelop and maintain close working relationships with academic departments, schools, and colleges within the UniversityDevelop and maintain close working relationships with external community agencies and other student support referral sitesAssist with one or more system-wide programs such as tutor training, workshop development and success course managementParticipate in University activities, including committee work, student activities, and other college eventsPerform other duties as assigned SUPPLEMENTAL INFORMATION McNeese State University, located in Lake Charles, Louisiana, is a public university and a member of the University of Louisiana System.
